Linen products used to be passed down for many generations, so our modern #slowfashion of today was the standard. Today, if your grandmother offers you linen tablecloths, linens or even bed linen, take all ten of them!
Flax was valued for its exceptional properties already thousands of years ago, decades ago the Czech Republic was even one of the great powers in the cultivation of flax. Unfortunately, that has changed, and after a long period of obscurity, linen fabric is coming back into the sights of customers.
We also register a growing percentage of returning customers because they "don't want to sleep in anything else". And that makes me incredibly happy!
Bed linen rightly deserves a place in your bedroom. Read below for reasons why you too will fall in love with timeless linen bedding.
The older the finer
Those who are not deterred by the initial structure of the material will be surprised and delighted by the result. Linen becomes softer and more pliable with each subsequent wash. And so it easily happens that you will gradually replace your cotton sheets with linen ones, which you no longer want to change. In addition, linen lasts a really long time (think of your grandmother's tea towels), so the investment in linen bed linen pays off many times over.
Perfectly absorbs moisture and absorbs odors
Linen bedding can absorb up to 20% of moisture before it becomes wet. This ability to wick moisture away from the body keeps the skin fresh and cool while you sleep. In addition, it absorbs odors. It stays fragrant much longer than other materials. And psst, you don't have to wash your sheets so often!
If you don't like ironing, sign up!
Linen is a fantastic material to maintain. A bed covered in linen looks great even if it is not made and ironed! YES! This is due to its natural wrinkliness, which is so typical for flax. Len simply squishes. In general, linen is washed inside out and a gentle program and detergent are used. It is recommended to wash in colder water for the first time, then at the usual 40 - 60°C the next time. And did you know that flax can withstand a temperature of 200°C? You can dry the sheets in the dryer. And who would love ironing, then just steam or sprinkle and it will be smooth as hell.
The right one for allergy sufferers
Do you have an asthmatic or allergy sufferer at home? Then linen bed linen is the most suitable for you. On the one hand, it naturally repels insects and is also resistant to mold, pollen and dust. Thanks to these properties, it has a positive effect not only on the skin, but it does not need to be washed as often as cotton bedding.
Nature will thank you
The production process is chemically undemanding, just like the cultivation of flax itself, when it is not necessary to use artificial fertilizers or pesticides. 80% of the production comes from Europe, so the fibers do not travel halfway around the world. Water consumption is several times lower than that of cotton. Linen is 100% recyclable. As we have already mentioned, flax lasts for many years, it becomes most beautiful after three years. That is, at a time when cotton is at the end of its useful life.
And so, if you are also interested in the environment, then in addition to the reasons mentioned above, it is just the right thing for you!
Are you still hesitating to try linen bedding?
