Klára (and Olí) radiates such energy that you simply want to be with them all the time. Calm, cheerful, inspiring. I've been saving her baby food tips from the very beginning. Sometimes we wrote to each other and somehow got along from a distance. Klára loves cooking and baking, and if you want a tip for a good bistro, she will definitely give you good advice! Klára and her partner Petr published the book Studio Cookbook at the end of last year. You can read about their journey now.

"I'm mainly a mom now, a mom who enjoys cooking for her child, it's pure joy because you can see how she loves it and enjoys every meal she gets. She really enjoys eating out too, which I'm really grateful for because it's that's what I enjoy. Tasting, recommending and evaluating. Petr always says that I should be an ombudsman, whom businesses should hire. Haha, maybe one day."
Klara, what food has made you happy lately?
If I had to choose just one, it would definitely be the spinach pancake with gooseberry jam at Etap, it was really great. I love savory pancakes, we often make them at home. And this one was definitely the best I've ever had! I hope I can find it on the menu at least one more time.
You and Peter published a book about food. Tell us how you got there?
Kája and Teo (aka In August) approached us that they would like to publish a Studio Cook Book if we didn't help them. I have known them for a long time, from the time when I worked in Mikyně in Liberec and they used to go there for brunches and Petr fit in so nicely, they like what he does, where he worked and I mean especially his joy in cooking vegetarian meals.
Are you planning another project?
I would love another project together! We'll see :))
Recently, a lot of quality places like Alma, Bjukitchen or Šodó bistro have been created in Prague... What do you think they are?
I am so grateful for that. It's great how many new places are being created, every day a new Kro opens here in Vršovice, I'm really looking forward to that. And what do I think it is? It looks like there are a lot of businesses in Prague, yes of course there are. But the good ones? There aren't that many! And those who open the new and good ones know it very well. They know the hole and the demand is here.
Do you perceive any trends in the kitchen - emphasis on locality, reduction of waste. .?
Definitely. It is very important. And I live like that myself. At home, we only buy local things from local farmers. And we choose the establishments where we eat accordingly. Anyone who knows me knows very well that I really put up with quality.
Have you been on holiday this year? And how do you enjoy local cuisine when you travel? Do you get inspired at home?
After a long time, we were now on a vacation that wasn't just about food 😅 , because normally we only go for food. Now we are waiting for Copenhagen. I'm really looking forward to it there. Copenhagen is always the biggest inspiration. And yes, of course, we are always inspired.
Do you have a tip for us about businesses not to miss in September in Prague, Liberec or Brno?
Definitely Alma in Prague and, as I said, a new Kro will open every day, I'm really looking forward to that. And I mustn't forget about Cafe Hrnek, they will have 28.9. birthday brunch and like every year there will be plum dumplings!
In Liberec it has always been and always will be Mikyna. And we never miss Eggo when we stop in Brno.
You have become our Večernica, MOONIA is a local brand, I work with selected materials, I would like to know what is your relationship to a responsible lifestyle? What works for you?
Both mine and Oli's wardrobe are entirely sustainable. We only buy sustainable pieces. I think a lot about every piece I buy. I mainly shop at Oli so that everything can be worn with everything and really be used to the full. We inherit a lot of clothes from our friends and of course Vinted every night before bed, you could say it's an addiction. My wardrobe is really about a few pieces, I have it in such a way that if I like something, I want to wear it often.
And finally, a few FUN FACTS:
My guilty pleasure is a deep fryer in a bun
When I was little, I wanted to be a kindergarten teacher
The last great book I read was ... now we read True Fairy Tales for Children by Bára Davidová every night. I don't think a better book for children could be written. She is really beautiful.
If there were more hours in the day, I would eat more.
The food I prepare at least once a week is pasta with sardines and pepper sauce from dm :D!
The most popular MOONIA piece is the Pocket Shirt
