Lightweight. Breathable. Silky soft. This is the viscose from which we sewed the autumn skirt. But how to do it so that it stays soft forever? Here are some tips on how to care for your EcoVero viscose.
EcoVero is love at first touch
We do not compromise when choosing suppliers. That's why I decided on a more sustainable variant of viscose, known as EcoVero . Classic viscose is actually made from wood and its extraction unfortunately looks different.
However, the resources for L enzing 's EcoVero come from sustainable forestry and are harvested with an emphasis on sustainability. A huge amount of water and chemicals are usually used in fabric production. Of course, they don't just disappear, they can't just be released into nature. But this manufacturer makes the use of water more efficient, thanks to which less water is consumed during production. Before the water is returned to nature, it is purified. Solvents used for production are recycled.
The wood comes from Austria or Bavaria, Germany. And that's another reason why this material makes sense for Central Europe - the production chain is shorter than conventional materials and fashion brands.
How to wash EcoVero viscose
- First question: Are you sure you need to wash it now? Maybe it would be enough just to air it out on a hanger . Best in the fresh air.
- Choose a gentle washing gel. For example, one that is suitable for wool and also works for low temperatures.
- Choose a gentle program or hand wash . Squeeze at a lower speed.
- We recommend a maximum temperature of 30 degrees .
- Put viscose in the washing machine, ideally in a laundry bag, so that nothing tears its threads.
- Do not tumble dry! Then the fabric ages faster. Simply dry on a rack. It dries fairly quickly on its own.
What about ironing?
Ironing should not be necessary. When drying on a hanger, the clothes should stretch and soften again - and then you just need to stretch them on your body and enjoy the day. :-)
